Background

Since, Thailand has been an agricultural country, almost half of

total population engaged in agriculture and had to depend all of

its demand in chemical fertilizers through import. Farmers were

still lacking on knowledge and principle of chemical fertilizer application suitable for specific Thai soils and crops. Consequently,

the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Royal Thai Government

entered into the joint venture with Metro Co., Ltd., Sojitz Corporation (Formerly Nissho Iwai Corporation) and Central Glass Co.,

Ltd. of Japan, to establish Thai Central Chemical Company Limited on March 6, 1973 with initial registered capital of 120 million

Baht, with an aim to improve agricultural yields and develop Thai

agriculture as a whole.

In October 1991, Thai Central Chemical Co., Ltd.(TCCC), was

officially listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) with a

registered capital of 700million Baht, and then became a public

company in 1992 with its registered capital increased to 2 billion

Baht.

At present, the two factories of the Company located at Phra

Samut Jedee District, Samut Prakan Province and at nakhon

Luang, Phra nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Province , enabled to produce

same standard high quality chemical fertilizers as those imported.

Main nutrients of TCCC’s chemical fertilizer production consisted

of nitrogen,phosphate, potassium with the supplement nutrients of

magnesium, sulphur, boron etc., which mixed together contributing in healthy plants which could give high yields both in quantity

and quality. These factories have been equipped with the total

annual production capacity of 1.2 million metric tons.
